If you thought a new hope couldn't be improved, this makes the film so much better

ROGUE ONE a star wars story:

So Star Wars Rogue is basically about a group of rebels consisting of Jyn Eso, Cassian Andor and his droid K2SO, Chirrut Imwe, his friend Baze Malbus and an imperial cargo piolet, Bodi Rook having to go search for answers of what the Empire is building, which they find out is the Death Star, so they have to go find Saw Gerrera who knows that whereabouts of Jyn's father who is pivotal to the weapon, after finding him, he dies and the rebels find out that he his hidden a fatal flaw in the Death Star, so the rebels go to the Imperial-occupied planet of Scarif to get the plans.

In the first part of this film, we go to so many locations, all which are unique and expand the universe, but Scarif, the beach planet is beautiful, it is such a great setting for a star wars film. The cinematography used to film all the action on scarif was so fitting and it showed off the amazing location as well as all the cool star wars tech, like the At-Ats and the dogfights in the sky with the U wings.

The characters in this film were amazing, the way they were written and the way that they interacted with one another was great. My favorite character in the film was Donnie Yen as Chirrut Imwe, the blind force wielding badass.I knew he was going to die in the film as Donnie Yen revealed it at Star Wars celebration, but he was great with his meditation and all.
I also did like Darth Vader making his appearance on the big screen since 33 years ago ( I'm not counting Revenge of the Sith because he only stood up and shouted).I also did enjoy Felicity Jones as the main star of the film, Jyn Erso, along side her was, Diego Luna as Captain Cassian Andor, Alan Tudyk as K2SO, Jiang Wen as Baze Malbus, Riz Ahmed as Bodi Rook, Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, Madds Mikkelson as Galen Erso and the main antagonist of the film, Ben Mendelsohn as Orson Krennic. It is also great to see a dirtier rebellion, they had to do what they had to do in order to achieve things like Cassian had to kill the dude in the begging of the film who gave him information and he was also ordered to murder Galen Erso, but he didn't.However, the Empire still remained formidable foes.Saw Gerrera was in the film and he is the first original animated character to enter a live action film, and there were a bunch of Star Wars rebels shout outs, like with the hammerhead ships crashing into a Star Destroyer to push it into another Star Destroyer.

There were so many great scenes in the film from the crew meeting one another at Saw Gerrera's base on Jedha to the amazing battle of Scarif.
My favorite scene in the film was by far the end scene with Darth Vader cutting through dozens of rebel soldiers. It was so awesome, to see the red lightsaber light illuminate the room and then to see his silhouette, it brought Vader back as the best movie villain of all time back to the silver screen.

But before I wrap up this review, everyone died, I knew I shouldn't have gotten attached to everyone, but sadly I did, it was just that the film did a great job of introducing everyone and giving them moments to shine, so inevitable moment came, when they died, I did get a little upset, this film brought the war in Star Wars, the characters like Chirrut Baze, Bodi, and K2, died in really harsh ways which was sad, and when Cassian and Jyn were hugging on the beach and Cassian opens his eyes when the blast wave comes, that was hard to comprehend his feelings. But everyone got sent off 'nicely'.It does just settle the questions of why these characters and the special storm troopers didn't appear in the original trilogy.
A lot of people were saying that everyone was going to die but I kept saying to myself that some members of the main cast were going to die, but the others had to go into hiding because the Empire wanted their asses for stealing the plans. If that did happen, a certain bounty hunter could be hired at that time creating the Boba Fett spin-off.

The ending of the film was amazing, I loved how Carrie Fisher was digitally recreated, it was amazing to see young princess Leia. They could have just had the white cloaks shown and it was a back view, but they went a billion steps further and fully recreated her face, it shows how much technology has improved in cinema.
Peter Cushing was also digitally recreated as Grand Moff Tarkin, it was awesome to see his return and he had a bigger role than I expected. The CG used on his face was sometimes edging the border of uncanny, but it was cool to see Tarkin back, and him taking over the Death Star project sets up Episode 4.

Overall, Rogue One a star wars story is a great film and takes Star Wars to a more mature level, it improves the story of a new hope and it only takes place like 3 minutes before it.I don't know if I'm going to do character discussions of the main rogue one cast as well they have all meet their end, I might do a Star Wars rebels easter eggs in Rogue One later.
Anyway, I will give Rogue One a 9 out of 10.Let me know your thoughts on the film down in the comments, like your favorite scene or character. As always thanks for reading,

May the force always be with you ...
