DC has released the first image of Cress Willaims as Black Lighting for the new superhero show coming to the CW, which the pilot is currently being filmed.

So first up, the suit looks insane, the amount of dealing with the blue circuit board like design on the arms look great, this costume resembles the comics, but also gives a modern flare which many comic book costumes don't have. The costume was designed by the same person who designed the Iron Man suit, Laura Jean Shannon. The effects on the powers look relly cool.

The background of this image reminds me of the season 1 character posters for Legends of Tomorrow, does this mean that Black Lighting, Jefferson Pierce might appear first in Legends and then his show will be spun off, like how Barry Allen appeared on Arrow?
But I am glad that the show has made its way to the CW with the other shows, it was originally going to be on Fox, but it seems safer for the show to appear on the CW with the support of the other shows.
Here is the official synopsis released for the show

"Jefferson Pierce made his choice: he hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with one daughter hell-bent on justice and the other a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend — Black Lightning."

This show seems like it will have a much different dynamic to the other shows, it is centering around a family, and it would be cool to see an older superhero going about teaming up with his kids, and taking down one in a gang.
Remember when I said will Jefferson Pierce appear on Legends of Tomorrow, it seems like it is hinting towards that, I feel like they didn't have to use the word Legends, but they did.I would like for him to appear of Legends for an episode.

I want to speculate when and where this show will take place. It will most likely take place in present day, but you may ask why haven't we heard of Jefferson Pierce before? and wouldn't he be the world's first meta-human if he hung up his cape long ago? and where did he get his powers, if he would have been the Black Lighting before the particle accelerator explosion?
I feel like an easy workaround for these questions is to possibly have him on another Earth, they easily could have him on Earth-1, both Team Arrow and team Flash don't really have any reason to seek out the help of a metahuman long before them, so that's how he never become tied up in any Flarrow stuff.
But the show could easily take place on another Earth, and his Earth along with Supergirl's Earth can collide into Earth-1 when a crisis on infinite Earth's crossover comes about.

I am excited fo Black Lighting to get his own show, he was the first African-American superhero created and it is great having his be in the DCTV universe. The pilot might come out later this year if we are lucky, and the show will mosy likely release next year.Comment below your thoughts on the first look of Black Lighting and the synopsis for the show.As always thanks for reading, take care.
