Chapter 10:

Hey everyone, on this episode of Riverdale we find out that Jughead has his birthday and everything goes wrong.Spoilers ahead for the episode, let's recap.

In the episode, Chuck is back at school and he apologized to Ethel, Betty tells him to back off, and she digs her nails into her hand when Chuck mentions Betty's dark side. Ethel tells Betty that it's okay.Veronica manages to become the captain of the cheerleading team.Archie tells Betty that Jughead has his birthday party, so Archie organizes an intimate surprise party with Archie, Betty, Veronica, Kevin, Joaquin, and Ethel, at Archie's house, as his dad is going the visit Archie's mother to sign some divorce papers. Betty invites Jughead's dad, FP but he tells her that it is best if he stays away from the party.

Veronica gets a note from her father saying if she doesn't  sign the papers he will make her life hell.
At the party everyone is having an alright time, Archie found the alcohol cabinet, then the doorbell rings, Cheryl, Chuck and the rest of the school show up and crash the party. Archie says screw it and lets everyone into the house.

Jughead hides out in the shed, Archie goes to talk to him, and Jughead tells Archie that he didn't want a party, he doesn't fit in and he accepts that.FP shows up and gives Jughead a present.FP knows Jughead would not have wanted a party but Jughead should go apologizing to Betty for not appreciating what Betty tried to do.FP goes to talk to Joaquin and he talks to him in the upstairs bedroom where Alice Copper spies on the two from next door.

Archie drunk calls his father and tells him not to sign the divorce papers. Cheryl sets up a game for everyone, Cheryl convicts Veronica of her parents being corrupt and Veronica convicts Cheryl of doing things siblings should not do with Jason (twincest). It ultimately turns into a big argument with Chuck revealing Betty's dark-side and Archie is confronted of getting it on with Ms. Grundy. Jughead punches Chuck and FP steps in and shuts down the party and kicks everyone out.Jughead leaves and he and Betty go to Pops where she apologizes to Jughead for giving him a party. Betty shows Jughead get hands and he holds her hands.

Veronica and Archie are the only ones still at the house and the two start making out.
The next morning Jughead sees Veronica leaving the house, he tells her that he will keep his lips shut.
Veronica signs some papers with her mother.Veronica gets a package from her father which is a necklace and note saying thank you and that your mother is not as innocent as you may think.

Veronica goes to school and gives Betty a coffee and a scone, and Betty says to Veronica "the last time you did this was when you kissed Archie."

Archie cleans up the house and he sits down, but then the doorbell rings and Archies dad comes in, with his mother.

My favorite scene in the episode was the end of the episode. Archie's mother is back. I am kind of confused as to why she came back to Riverdale, she did say that she moved as Riverdale wasn't safe anymore, but how did she know, 2 years ago.
Did she know about there being possible blood money placed on the Blossoms?
And the actress that plays Mary Andrews is Molly Ringwald.

There is a lot of sketchy stuff going on with the Lodge family. They seem like they may have had a lot of involvement in the murder of Jason, but why? In the episode there was a scene of FP confronting Alice and her past, it seems like Alice may have been part of the south side serpents before, and maybe the two had a relationship.

The stand out character in the episode was Cole Sprouse as Jughead. The character feels like a genuine outlaw who doesn't fit so when he is put in his most awkward situation it was great to see his reaction.I liked how the character was driven to help Betty, someone he kind of hurt, and someone he was felt hurt by but he came to the terms that Betty was trying to do something nice for him.

Overall, this was a solid episode of Riverdale. I enjoyed the character relationships, I like where the Archie and Veronica relationship is going, and the overall tone of the episode worked well.I will give this episode an 8 out of 10. I would like to hear your thoughts on the episode down in the comments below. As always thanks for reading, take care.
