GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY REVIEW ... SO SPOILERS

You Like Superhero movies? well here's a movie about a tree and raccoon

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY:

Before vol. 2 drops, I wanted to review the film that scrapped the bottom of the barrel and surprised everyone.

Guardians of the Galaxy is about Peter Quill being taken away at a young age, raised by space gang, the Ravagers. Star-lord 26 years later Star-lord finds an Orb, containing the power stone, who Kree emperor, Ronan the Accuser is after, for his master, Thanos. After getting arrested, Star-lord teams up wth Gamora daughter Thanos, Rocket Racoon, Groot, and Drax the Destroyer. The five have to safe keep the Orb from Ronan after finding out its capabilities and have to save the Galaxy from Ronan the Accuser.

My favorite scene from the film was Groot sacrificing himself, for a character that only spoke three words, it was interesting to see how emotionally attached the audience could get attached to a character, which made for a great death scene. But he got bought back to life, like in the comics.

One of the reasons why Guardians of the Galaxy was a great film was the characters, in the way they were developed and portrayed on screen. That had to do with the cast of the film. Chris Pratt was great as Starlord, the character was compelling, knowing that he has lost everything but now he is aiming for a chance is a really inspiring story arc in the film.
I loved Zoe Saldana as Gamora, the character was interesting and her relationship with Karen Gillian as Nebula.

I enjoyed all the guardians in the film, Dave Bautista as Drax was amazing, the look of the character was great with so many detailed tattoos and the story arc of the character. Of course, Rocket and Groot were great in the film, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel voiced the characters well.

Sean Gunn was great to see as a Ravager, but he also played Rocket on screen. Michael Rooker was an interesting character as Yondu, I enjoyed him and his relationship with Peter.
Benicio Del Toro was interesting as the Collector. I liked learning more about the Infinity Stones, and I would like to see more of the character in the future films.
Lee Pace, yeah he played Ronan, he was a menacing villain, but his backstory wasn't too clear which is something I wish was done.

Overall Guardians of the Galaxy is a great film. James Gunn directed the film really well, and it is interesting to see how an obscure comic boom series can become so well known. I will give Guardians of the Galaxy a 9 out of 10. Comment below your thoughts on the film down in the comments below. As always thanks for reading, take care.
