GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 EGO DISCUSSION

Kurt Russell played Ego the living planet, Star-lord's father in Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2. He was a pivotal part in the film, so let's discuss his role in the film and the future of the character in the MCU. So spoilers ahead for Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.

In the film Ego, the living planet finds Star-lord and he goes with him to his planet. We learn that Ego can manipulate matter, and he is a celestial. We later learn about Ego's plane to take over the universe, with the plants he planted. We learn that Ego planted the brain tumor into Star-lord's mother. the Guardians manage to defeat Ego, which takes away Star-lords powers, and leaves Ego powerless, for the time being.

It was a big reveal in the film that Ego was a celestial.  I personally thought in the film Ego was not going to be a villain, a departure from the comics. But that was not true.

Going into the future, Ego is an important character to Starlord being his father. He could appear in Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3, or he could appear in other space-related films, like Captain Marvel (sequel), secret wars, if wanted, or if somehow Marvel get's the rights to Fantastic Four, Ego could team up with Galactus.

Anyway, I enjoyed Kurt Russell as Ego the living planet in Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2. Comment below your thoughts on the character down below. As always thanks for reading, take care.
