GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2 ROCKET DISCUSSION
In Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2, Rocket was still cracking jokes, but he was caring for Baby Groot, as Groot did for him in the first film. Rocket was split up with Yondu in the film and he eventually comes back for the third act in the fight against Ego. In the film, he goes as far to shoot Gamora to stop her from saving Peter, as he didn't want to loose another friend. This shows that between the films Rocket has really learned the meaning of family, and how much he cares for his team.
In the film there were some great jokes, I liked the winking one, for the first bit, that was one of the jokes I felt was dragged out a bit.
Going forward, we know Rocket is in Infinity War, thanks to the concept art. In the film, I would see him be a good interaction point between the Avengers and Guardians, but compared to Gamora and Drax who have a pivotal story arc with Thanos, Rocket may not get too much development. There have been talks that there will be a Rocket and Groot spin-off film somewhere, I talked about that a while ago, and I said that the other Guardians characters would show up, but the spotlight would be on Rocket and Groot. This would be a good jumping off point from Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3 which will be the last film with the current iteration of the team,
In conclusion, Rocket was the charming, wise-cracking character I wanted in the film. Bradley Cooper voiced the charter well, and Sean Gunn did a good job on the onset part of Rocket. I look forward to seeing the character. Comment below your thoughts on Rocket Racoon from Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 down in the comments below. As always thanks for reading, as always, take care.
